State of Vermont Auto Sales / Auto Salvage Requirements

Bring title to yard for vehicles less than 15 years old.
If you do not have the title you may request a duplicate title from the Department of Motor Vehicles by filling out the "Affidavit of Loss of Certificate of Title and Application for Duplicate" form. The form number is TA-VT-04 and can be downloaded here.

For vehicles older than 15 years, no title is required.
If you have an abandoned vehicle, you can apply for an abandoned vehicle certificate using the "Request for Abandoned Motor Vehicle Certification" form from the Department of Motor Vehicles. The form number is TA-VN-12 and can be downloade here.
